The Project Manager works under direct supervision of the Assistant Director, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), at the University of Maryland, College Park, in the Division of Information Technology (DIT). The incumbent will plan, execute, and finalize projects according to deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also assist in defining the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.
Minimum qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Experience:
- 4+ years experience in an IT project management/lead or related capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.
- Experience in developing and deploying project best practices, policies, procedures, and processes.
- Demonstrated experience in project team management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of project management.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to develop best practices, techniques and tools for project planning, execution and management.
- Ability to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Strong analytical skill using spreadsheets (MS Excel, google sheets).
Preferences
- Knowledge of and experience with Workday or a modern SaaS ERP.
- Knowledge of and experience Project Management software (Smartsheet, MS Project)
- Knowledge of and experience Business Process Management documentation tool experience (Visio, Lucidchart)
Additional Certifications: PMP or ITIL certification is preferred
