TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: This is a full-time, 12-month, benefited position in the 3000 broadband, exempt from FLSA (not overtime eligible).

SALARY: $84,000+ minimum annual salary (dependent on experience)

JOB SUMMARY: The Database Administration team is responsible for enterprise-level software systems administration. The team is responsible for physical and logical configuration planning of enterprise-level architecture, technical implementation, and ongoing management of software to support local and enterprise-wide applications. The team ensures operational stability, integrity, and security of database management software and interfaces to that software. The team supports standalone and clustered databases on multiple database platforms. The team performs technical functions in support of database-driven applications. Each member of the team is expected to keep up with new technology and look for ways it can be implemented to enhance our services. This position will be supervised by a Senior Database Administrator/Team Lead and will work on a team composed of database and application administrators.

Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Database Management, Information Systems, Systems Administration, or a related field or a combination of education and relevant work experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the position. • Requires three years of database administration performing Oracle database installation and maintenance in an enterprise-level production environment for mission critical applications. • Requires experience administrating Oracle on a LINUX/UNIX OS platform. • Experience with RAC/ASM and Grid Infrastructure required with experience performing administration on Exadata architecture preferred. • Requires experience with backup and recovery using RMAN. • Requires experience with data administration principles using relational database design and query and programming languages. • Experience with OEM, SQL in general, SQL*PLUS and Data Guard required. • Requires experience with OS or database scripting. Requires knowledge of network interfacing and TCP/IP protocols. • Requires experience using PC productivity tools including Microsoft Office and experience using email and calendaring tools. • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain excellent working relationships verbally and in writing with a wide variety of users, co-workers, supervisors, and liaisons. • Must be able to share information willingly and engage in candid, truthful, appropriate dialogue, respond in a timely manner and verbalize clear messages that achieve successful and positive outcomes. • Must be self-motivated and have ability to identify needed action without continual direction. • Requires strong organizational abilities, ability to juggle multiple tasks, adjust to an ever-changing environment, and work some variable hours. • Requires occasional off-hour and weekend work

Preferred Qualifications: • Experience working with multiple higher education applications preferred. • Experience with Oracle PeopleSoft applications preferred. • Experience performing administration tasks on both Windows and UNIX/LINUX operating systems preferred. • Experience implementing or administrating data transfers between MSSQL and Oracle preferred. • Experience performing SQL development and tuning preferred. • Experience administrating multiple database platforms preferred. • Experience with publish/subscribe integration. • Knowledge working with PeopleSoft security.
