TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: This is a full-time, 12-month, benefited position in the 1000 Director/Assistant Director broadband, exempt from FLSA (not overtime eligible).

SALARY: $95,000+ (dependent on experience) minimum annual salary plus a competitive benefit package including a generous retirement plan and employer paid family health insurance.

JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Deputy CIO, the Assistant Director is part of the Enterprise Services team tasked with delivering enterprise level applications for the University system and its constituents. This position will lead the supporting functions of Enterprise Services. This position is responsible for providing leadership and management of the Enterprise Applications (non-PeopleSoft) team in providing system-level support of multi-user operating systems, hardware, and software applications, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and integration of these systems. In addition, the Assistant Director plays a key role in mentoring other analysts, project management, and strategic planning.
REQUIRED: • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field. • 8+ years of experience with enterprise information technology systems and services; such as, networking, system administration or related. • 4+ years of experience in implementing and supporting enterprise level applications • Demonstrated experience with strategic planning as well as project management at an enterprise level. • 2+ years of demonstrated ability to effectively supervise others. • Experience in planning, developing and managing budgets. • Must have ability to communicate effectively and maintain excellent working relationships verbally and in writing with a wide variety of users, co-workers, supervisors, subordinates, and liaisons between teams. • Requires strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to adjust to an ever-changing environment. • Ability to grasp the role that technology plays in higher education and the ability to adapt to and research emerging trends in the field required. • Experience in working in an environment with multiple deadlines, including demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet multiple requests.
PREFERRED: • Master’s degree • Experience working in Higher Education • Experience with three-tier development (web servers, application servers, database servers), server configuration, and networking fundamentals. • Experience with developing and deploying mobile applications for mobile devices such as iPhone and Android. • Experience working with enterprise level multi-tiered deployment environments, i.e. Development, Testing, Staging, Production. • Experience with Learning Management Systems.
