General Statement of Duties
Performs responsible technical work in support of the administration, operation, and security of the Commission's WAN, LAN, data center, and peripheral equipment.

Distinguishing Features of the Class
An employee in this class is responsible for overseeing the Commission’s data center, network, and computer systems to ensure proper operation and security. The ideal candidate will be able to deploy, configure, maintain and monitor all active network and data center equipment in order to ensure smooth system operation. Work is performed under the supervision of the Chief Technology Officer and in consultation with 3rd party vendors as needed. Work is evaluated based on the efficiency and effectiveness of the work performed and through periodic reports and user feedback.

Duties and Responsibilities
Assists with the planning, implementation, analysis, maintenance and support of the Commission' s computer
system and related operating systems including maintenance and operation of multiple servers, routers,
switches and multiplatform networks and peripheral equipment; providing for connectivity for LAN and
Internet and related applications; operating systems maintenance; and, server software and utilities.

Education: Bachelor’s degree & experience in network administration preferred. $65,600 - $78,719 depending on experience, plus excellent benefits. Position is located in Raleigh area.
